Polyurethane tread is injection molded and mechanically bonded to a polyolefin core. Tread is molded in, around and through a ribbed extension of the core to prevent debonding. Both materials wear well and are impervious to water (including salt water), resistant to oils, grease, most solvents and chemicals, typically used in commercial, industrial, institutional and food service applications. Polyurethane is non-marking, offers a quiet ride, floor protection and good capacity ratings. Because most polyurethane treads have a slight crown, these wheels maneuver well and are used in the retail industry, on shopping carts, platform trucks, etc. Because of their sanitary properties and their ability to be washed down and hold up to grease, cleaners and solvents; they are widely used in the food service and institutional industries. Available with a wide range of bearing options.
